Bullara Station

Yesterday we arrived at Bullara Station, a beautiful farm halfway between Coral Bay and Exmouth.  We explored the place and fed five 3 week old lambs.  As we were settling in a white horse called Ted came walking by our caravan with a little black pony.  At 5:00pm we all sat down around the fires with all the other campers there.  A nice person named John came and cooked the guests some delicious damper which was almost as good as Aunty Bev’s.

Today we drove down to the lower end of the Exmouth Gulf.  On the way we saw Emus, Kangaroos,Goannas and cattle (cows) that were a bit startled when we drove through.  When we arrived, we had lunch at a decking over looking the distant water and then we went out on to the other track and arrived at the boat ramp into the river.  We got out our fishing rods out and as I was walking down the muddy ramp with dad to get in the right spot to cast the line…SLIP, dad and I went sliding down the ramp on our now sore bottoms.  We stopped ourselves just before slid into the river, luckily I only got a sore and muddy bottom because dad ended up getting both of those things as well as cuts in his foot from the wire.  While dad and I fixed up my tangled fishing line, Kade and mum had a do with Kade’s rod but had no luck, when we eventually got my rod fixed I had a short go and… bingo, I caught a little spotty one.  After we released the fishy we drove back along the road and a few grasshoppers jumped through one window and into the backseat and out the other window and onto the windscreen.

When we got back to the caravan we visited the lambs and patted the horses and I had an outdoor shower.  The outdoor shower is in a little room with no roof, the walls are made out of sticks and you could see the birds flying over as you had a relaxing shower.  At 5:00pm we went back out to the fire and had some damper.  Before we left this morning, the horses in the paddocks came right up to the fence and we fed them carrots and grass, they were very beautiful and so close we could do their hair.

  1. Those Horses sound beautiful Mylee. Did they have names?
In those pictures the sky looks so blue compared to Melbourne's grey weather.
I hope you're enjoying your holiday because you are really missed at school.

    Love From Lily :)
