Litchfield National Park

We left Edith Falls today and arrived at Litchfield National Park.  We chose to camp in the Wangi Falls campground and were lucky enough to find a spot.  We set up and then walked to Wangi Falls and had a refreshing swim.  It was a popular place, very crowded but still really beautiful.  We swam to the other side of the pool were the 2 falls were and climbed up on to the other side. On the side of the smaller waterfall there was a large, deep hole with water in it and it was big enough for a few people.  It was quite warm because the water that fell into it was heated up from travelling down the rock in the sun.  We then jumped off the rock face and paddled to the larger waterfall and moved beneath the cold water.

In the afternoon we drove out on a 4WD track and visited The Lost City.  This place is named The Lost City because in the middle of a flat landscape mountains of rocks stand, looking like the remains of an old ancient city.  It was so bizarre that I was seriously questioning myself maybe these rocks are real ruins used by Caveman or Aboriginal tribes.  Then we visited Tabletop Swamp where the bird life was in abundance.  Then we went to Tolmer Falls Lookout which looked out over (of course) Tolmer Falls.  There was something unique about the falls, it had a natural bridge across the top of the falls.  It was very pretty and from the lookout you could see as far as the human eye allows.  Then we drove back to camp to start dinner.
