Broome

Today we left Barn Hill and arrived in Broome.  We set up our caravan and then had a look around town.  While we were driving we saw our first Boab Tree.  Boab Trees don’t look like normal trees, they have an egg shaped trunk so it is larger in the middle than it is on the bottom.  We drove by the ocean and then came to the market.  It was quite a large market with a wide range of things to choose from.  We did a loop of the market and then came back to the things we wanted a 2nd look at.  We stopped at the Snake Control stall because it had snakes out on display.  Around the top of the Gazebo a 2 and a half metre Python had wrapped itself along the metal.  Around the mans hand a smaller snake had wrapped itself and I stroked it.  There was another one it a box and the tiny Pigmy snake was in the pouch of a lady’s bag.  Kade and I got a lamb burger with cheese and lettuce from a stall for lunch and then we went to Red Cross and donated some books.  We walked through the shops and passed the oldest cinema still running in the world.

After we went back to the caravan we, dressed up and then went to a fancy resort to watch the famous staircase to the moon.  The staircase to the moon happens when the full moon rises over the mudflats and creates a streak of light that looks like a staircase.  We waited for over 2 hours just to watch 11 minutes of action but the wait was worth it.  While we were waiting I had a 1 pickled and natural prawn, half a bread roll and half a tub of yummy chips.  Then when the moon started to rise, a local played some music on the Didgeridoo.  It was beautiful the way the moon started off red then orange and as it got higher it turned white.
