Tackling Gibb River Road

Today we started our journey on the Gibb River Road.  Our stop for the night was at Windjana Gorge National Park.  On the way we stopped in Derby to look at the hollow Boab Tree that was used to hold Aboriginals in the bad times.  That was when some people called Black-Birders captured young Aboriginal boys and sold them as slaves, inside that Boab Tree was where they held them.  Once we had set up making sure we had the view of the spectacular cliff not far away, we were ready to relax.  Then we got out our torches to do a walk through the cave of Tunnel Creek.  The Tunnel Creek walk is a tunnel through a cliff with water in it, it was dark so we needed to bring out torches.  It was really cool walking down into the small entrance to the cave.  We shined our light on some beautiful rock formations and found some bats.  Out the end of the tunnel the creek that runs through the tunnel widens and I had a swim.  It was a cool experience to walk through a tunnel with water, in a cave and especially in the dark.
